We had incredible views of the Colca Canyon from the highway (a bit of a nerve-wracking drive if you ask me!) At every pull-out there are people selling figurines and touristy trinkets and – oh! – so many beautiful woven alpaca scarves!
From this viewpoint, we can see the town of Madrigal across the canyon. Madrigal is the only town in this area of Peru without Quechua name. It is incredible, the human transformation of the landscape through agriculture here. Terraces abound.
